Parent Involvement

Parents play a critical role in Touchstone’s success.  As partners in our children’s education, we support the school by supporting our child’s learning at home.   The school’s operation also depends on parents contributing their time to in–classroom support activities and through school committees.

Classroom Support Activities

Parents take turns providing support to the classroom by:

  • Providing snacks for their child’s class on a weekly rotation (approximately 3 times per year)
  • Helping out at hot lunch on their child’s snack week (1 hour, approximately 3 times per year)
  • Assisting on Wednesday afternoons while teachers conduct one–on–one reading with the students (approximately 3 times per year)
  • Attending monthly field trips (one half–day per month – voluntary)

These classroom support activities allow parents to be involved first–hand in the daily life of the school.  And, children are so proud of having their parents in the class or serving hot lunch!
