Touchstone's After School Program
Open to any elementary student in the KV
Touchstone Community School has an after school program like no other! Each week students will participate in exciting, educational, and interactive activities while winding down from their school day. The program is offered to students in K-5 classes from dismissal time (1:30 pm) until 6:00 pm. Each month, the program will offer a combination of regular after school programming and special workshop programming.
During regular programming time, students will participate in a series of activities and learning centres. Some examples include homework, reading help, art activities, science experiments, team building games, and leadership activities. These weeks will also include special event days, theme dress-up days and much, much more!
During the special workshop times, students will have the opportunity to participate in incredible workshops with trained professionals. These workshops will immerse students in specialty areas, challenge them, and provide plenty of opportunities for fun and creativity!
Touchstone's after school program is open to both students from Touchstone Community School as well as students from surrounding elementary schools in the Kennebecasis Valley. Parents can choose from several after school enrollment options:
1. Full Time Option. Enroll 2 to 5 days per week for an entire term (terms are: Sep - Dec, Jan - Mar, Apr - Jun), pay monthly and benefit from a reduced fee. Children enrolled 5 days a week will be automatically included in the special workshop programming (on rare occasions, there may be a small additional charge for certain workshops). Children enrolled 2 to 4 days per week in a term can enroll in the special activity workshops and pay the difference between their full time fee and the workshop fee.
| Number of days enrolled each week | Monthly Fee | Sibling Rate |
| 5 | $275.00 | $235.00 |
| 4 | $225.00 | $190.00 |
| 3 | $170.00 | $145.00 |
| 2 | $115.00 | $100.00 |
2. Special Activity Workshops only. Browse the selection of special workshops available and enroll only for your chosen workshop. Students who enroll in special workshops only will also have the benefit of the after school hours of 2:30 to 6:00 pm on the day of their workshop. Students can attend the workshop hours only, or they can stay for the full time and enjoy the full after school experience!
The following two after school enrollment options are only available to students of Touchstone Community School:
3. Sibling Care. Students who are dismissed at 2:30 and have an older sibling dismissed at 3:00 may join the after school program from 2:30 - 3:00 for $4 per day.
4. “Last Minute” Drop-In Care. Last minute drop-in service is available for $15.00 ($12.75 for siblings) per day. Drop-in students will be supervised with regular programming but will not participate in the special activity workshops due to space limitations.
